Behind the Scenes

Het Nederlandse Marionetten Theater has been in Mariska Brugman’s family for 4 generations. She and her husband René make all the constructions and puppets themselves. They also write the plays, and know them so well they often improvise the lines. Their newest play ‘Stiekem naar Groenland’ is about viking Erik the Red and his treasure. But how does a puppet show look from the other side of the stage? An impression ‘behind the scenes’:
